Pure Comedy

The comedy of life starts like this
The inside is too poor to feed your inquisitiveness
And so mankind, they devised this alternative
Follow this road, and hope whoever greets you along the way
Is kind enough to fill your curiosity in
But ignorant, is pretty much what I've been ever since
Now the road leaves a few issues to address
Like say, the road is long, the road is dark
The road is home to black dogs that constantly bark
Minus the few times you find lamps to illume your way
But believe when I say, shining they won't stay
So rejoice under the shed of light and enjoy the silent
For when they're off the dogs return louder and more violent
No lamp glows endlessly, that is the road's policy
And how is this for irony
The dogcatchers you hire turn to dogs eventually
Now that's what I call pure comedy
